FAQs

Questions families often ask.

If you don’t see your question here, give us a call. We’d rather have a conversation than leave you wondering.

Getting Started

How quickly can care begin?

Usually within a few days of the initial consultation. For urgent situations — a hospital discharge, an unexpected family emergency — we can often start the same day. Call us and we’ll tell you what’s realistic.

Is the initial consultation really free?

Yes. The phone consultation and in-home assessment are both free, with no obligation. We’d rather you make an informed decision than feel rushed into anything.

What happens during the in-home assessment?

We come to you, meet your loved one, and spend time understanding the situation: their health, preferences, routines, the layout of the home, and any safety concerns. We build a care plan together. It typically takes about an hour.

What if my loved one is resistant to the idea of care?

Very common. Many seniors don’t want to feel like they’re losing independence. Our caregivers are trained to ease in gently, build trust, and let the relationship develop. Most clients who were initially skeptical end up genuinely enjoying their caregiver’s company.

Caregivers & Care Quality

Will the same caregiver come each time?

Yes — caregiver consistency is one of our core commitments. We assign one or two regular caregivers and use the same person whenever possible. When backups are needed, we brief them thoroughly on routines and preferences.

How are caregivers screened?

Every caregiver passes background checks, reference verification, and an in-person interview. We’re selective about who we hire — we turn down more applicants than we accept.

Are caregivers trained?

Yes. All caregivers complete training in personal care, safe transfers, infection control, and dementia care basics. Many have additional certifications. Training continues on the job.

What if the caregiver isn’t a good fit?

Just tell us. We’ll change the caregiver promptly. We aim to match well the first time, but if it isn’t working, we’d rather know early than have you worry in silence.

Cost & Coverage

How much does home care cost?

Costs depend on the type of care, hours per week, and whether overnight coverage is needed. We’ll provide clear pricing in your consultation. There are no setup fees, contracts, or long-term commitments.

Do you accept long-term care insurance?

Yes. We work with most major long-term care insurance carriers. We’ll help you understand what’s covered under your specific policy.

Scheduling & Flexibility

Can the schedule change as needs change?

Absolutely. Care needs aren’t static, and our schedules aren’t either. We adjust hours up or down based on what’s actually needed. Most clients see their care plan change over time.

Do you offer 24-hour care?

Yes. We offer both 24-hour shift care (multiple caregivers rotating) and live-in care (one caregiver in the home). See our 24-hour care page for details.

Are there contracts or long-term commitments?

No long-term contracts. We earn your trust week by week. If care isn’t working, you can stop. We hope you won’t want to.
