Companion Care

Friendly presence, conversation, light help around the home — the social and practical support that makes aging in place enjoyable.

Sometimes the most important care isn’t medical at all.

Loneliness, boredom, and isolation are real health risks for older adults. Companion care addresses them with something that’s harder to systematize than personal care: the warmth and engagement of another person.

Our companion caregivers play cards, share meals, take walks, run errands together, look through old photos, and listen to the stories your loved one wants to tell. They help with light housekeeping and meal prep so the house stays comfortable. It’s care that keeps the world from getting smaller.

Who This Is For

Companion care is often the right fit when...

Companion care frequently begins before personal care is needed — when someone is still mostly independent but lonely or starting to slow down.

  • Your loved one lives alone and you worry about isolation
  • They’ve stopped driving and need rides to appointments and errands
  • Meal skipping is becoming a pattern
  • Their world feels like it’s getting smaller
  • Family lives far away and you want a regular friendly presence

Common Questions

Things families often ask.

Is companion care medical care?

No. Companion care is non-medical. Our companion caregivers don’t perform medical tasks. If medical needs arise, we’ll coordinate with appropriate providers and may recommend stepping up to personal care or specialty care.

How much does companion care cost?

Costs depend on hours and frequency. We’ll provide clear pricing in your free consultation and discuss payment options including private pay and long-term care insurance. See our payment options page for more.

Can companion care expand into more involved care later?

Yes — that’s actually one of the benefits of working with us. As your loved one’s needs change, we can scale care up without disruption. Same agency, often the same caregiver, just a different scope of help.
